Most commonly associated with hyperpop, midwxst is nonetheless a rap artist through and through. He broke through as a teen in 2020 with "Trying," an alternately high-strung and plaintive single examining his isolation. The melodically inclined MC/singer further explored a wide range of emotions -- without being averse to boastful irreverence -- across numerous singles and EPs before he made his full-length debut in 2023 with E3. Second album Archangel, led by the blown-out "I Told You," arrived in 2025.
