Shinda Kahlon

Punjabi-Canadian artist Shinda Kahlon (aka Satinderpal Singh Kahlon) is the go-to hitmaking lyricist and vocalist for star AP Dhillon, the two having worked together on hits such as “Brown Munde”, “Dil Nu” and “Fate”. Born in the town of Dujowal in the Amritsar district of Punjab and later moving to the city of Victoria in Canada, Kahlon became a key figure in the founding of the label Run-Up Records alongside Dhillon, singer and songwriter Gurinder Gill and producer Gminxr. As a long-time collaborator on many of Dhillon's songs, Kahlon has helped shape the lyricism of modern Punjabi pop and hip-hop on the likes of “Insane”, “Arrogant” and “True Stories”. An early smash came with “Brown Munde” in 2020, which features plenty of swaggering lyrics about global success, while on “Insane”, Kahlon’s own verse showcases his penchant for wordplay. As their status grew, songs like “True Stories” reflected (and flexed) a luxurious lifestyle Kahlon and company have aspired to and worked towards for years.
