Maria Taylor

A singer/songwriter whose work traverses dream pop, folk, and indie rock, Maria Taylor has enjoyed a lengthy career as both a solo artist and member of bands like Azure Ray and Now It's Overhead. She is also a multi-instrumentalist and longtime collaborator with Conor Oberst's Bright Eyes project as well as others on the Saddle Creek label. In the mid-2000s, Taylor launched her own career as a solo artist, exploring a mix of chamber pop and folk-driven styles on releases like 2007's Lynn Teeter Flower and 2013's Something About Knowing. In between her solo outings, which are released on her own Flower Moon label, she and bandmate Orenda Fink have occasionally reunited as Azure Ray, releasing albums in 2012 and 2021. After a six-year gap, Taylor returned to solo work with the 2026 album Story's End.
