About Broken Chanter
Under the name Broken Chanter, Glaswegian musician David MacGregor makes sonically eclectic indie rock that is literate and passionate. After the dissolution of his previous band Kid Canaveral, MacGregor launched Broken Chanter as a solo endeavor, releasing his eponymous debut in 2019. He later teamed up with Delgados drummer Paul Savage, who produced his acclaimed 2021 follow-up, Catastrophe Hits. The album was a Top Ten hit in Scotland and earned MacGregor a contract with veteran label Chemikal Underground, which released Broken Chanter's third LP, Chorus of Doubt, in 2024. While continuing to work with Savage, MacGregor only built on that album's socially consious themes and striding sound on 2026's This Could be Us, You, or Anybody Else.
