About Wolfmother
Formed in 2004 by frontman Andrew Stockdale, Australia’s Wolfmother is a hard rock band with classic rock roots. ∙ Their 2005 self-titled debut earned its RIAA Gold and 5-times ARIA Platinum Certifications in under two years. ∙ “Woman,” their hit single from Wolfmother, made it to No. 7 on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2007. ∙ Nominated for 10 ARIA Music Awards, the band won three in 2006: Best Rock Album, Best Group, and Breakthrough Album (Wolfmother). ∙ Making his solo debut on Slash’s self-titled LP in 2009, Stockdale released two albums, including Keep Moving, which peaked at No. 32 on the ARIA Australian Albums chart. ∙ In 2014, without a label or any kind of promotion, Wolfmother unexpectedly dropped their third release, New Crown, which cracked the US Billboard 200. ∙ Stockdale was chosen to perform “Joker and the Thief,” alongside the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, at Australia’s legendary AFL Grand Final in 2020.
