The updated interface is great but just a pity that responsiveness has been slowed down. This could have been a 5-star rating but delays in loading is really frustrating
Atrocious loading times on what should be a new and improved app

It’s been a while since I’ve experienced this much frustration while using an app. Particularly the messaging/chat mechanism is completely unusable at times, and since mentioned feature forms to core of communications with clients I can’t in all honesty give a good rating to an app which is currently negatively affecting my response time due to unoptimized coding. I wouldn’t recommend this app until its performance has been drastically improved. iPhones have some of the best hardware out there, so the only reason an app would perform this poorly is because of shoddy coding and lack of proper testing of the app pre launch to sort out any performance issues.Switching back to the old app until this one has actually been properly optimized. Quite shocking for a platform that places such apparent high emphasis on quality of work and freelancer skills.

Terrible app for Freelancers because they don’t provide any support with clients who do not pay you. The things they have in place to ensure payments clients have also found a way to manipulate and not pay freelancers for their work. The bids system is overpriced & can get costly after a while, other Freelancing apps charge 1 Bid per proposal, upwork has many proposals charging over 12 Connects just to bid.They have no support lines for Freelancers, Freelancers have to chat on a support forum whenever they have issues with clients.

Don’t be fooled into thinking using Upwork is an easy way to make money. Competition is cutthroat. You will be competing against 3M other freelancers for the same job. And most of the ‘clients’ are scam artists or time wasters. Get this: you have to pay to join, pay to turn on ‘available’ notifications, pay to bid for a job, and then PAY TO BE PLACED AT THE TOP OF THE QUEUE!!! Upwork is a publicly traded company. They answer only to their shareholders. As usual, the worker gets screwed.
