I love love love using capcut. I’ve literally been using it like forever and everything about it is great. There’s just a few things that kinda irritates me. I make a lot of edits to start off with. But when I make an edit that has a lot of clips altogether and has a fast beat then it sort of glitches and I have to keep on starting the video from the beginning so I can see how it came out. I also wanted to report this while I’m writing this review. I have to constantly reinstall my video and when my wifi isn’t working properly or something then the video doesn’t open at all. I have had to delete some of my edits because they just didn’t want to open at all for months. I have a ton of edits on capcut and reinstalling them each and every time is quite frustrating. Another thing is recently after the update every time I make a video I’ve realized that the timing is super off and doesn’t really match the audio when trying to edit. It makes it very difficult to edit like this because I have to keep editing it thinking it’s my mistake when it’s actually not. I’m not sure weather this is just a me problem or a lot of people deal with this after the update.

It’s sad to see a lot of companies are losing their original selves to greed and the same is seen here with CapCut. I have used CapCut for years and have enjoyed its easy-to-learn features, simple interface and great functionality but it seems over time with the introduction of CapCut Pro (a subscription service for more editing features) things have started to get shaky. In the span of a few months many effects and features that were once free into paid features to maximise revenue despite their $100 million reported revenue in 2023. One of the core features of exporting a video is the quality, all qualities of 480p, 720p, 1080p and 2K/4K were freely available given how important they are to a video. As of recent, only 480p and 720p are available for export resulting in users wishing to export high-quality videos being left with subpar video quality. The biggest slap to the face is that the user only has a limited time (giving a sense of hopelessness or urgency) free use until the crucial feature that has been free for so many users will be locked behind a pressured paywall. It’s depressing to see how far companies will stoop down to so that they can make a little more profit for their already exorbitant profits. Thousands, maybe even or close to millions of users possess feelings of betrayal, loss of respect and overall disappointment by CapCut being lost in the money and completely ignoring consumers. They have become slaves to money. They only want our wallets and not our opinion. Do better.

I have been using this app since its launch in 2020 and I’ve been using its free version for about 4 years now. It works way better than other mobile editing platforms and does not lag out my personal devices like other editing apps. What has disappointed me in the last couple of months is their subscription, PRO. Previously, everything was free, transitions, animations, text animations, everything was completely free but they have now made things such as text animations, effects, transitions and normal animations PRO and a watermark is in the corner if you don’t pay. I am so let down by this! However, the app still works perfectly and I will continue to use it. It’s a shame they have started to make us pay.

Cap cut, cap cut, cap cut. I take my hat off to this app. Was once the best *FREE* mobile editing app. I use to have fun editing on it. It’s ease of use, gorgeous UI and great features. Now…Adding *NEW* features to the app and making people buy the pro version to use them, I can understand. However I have one big qualm. Gradually locking FREE features behind paywalls over months is surely one of the most slimy and insidious things I’ve seen from mobile apps ever. Corporate greed is an insatiable pit. Worst part about that kind of greed is how it will eventually lead to its own downfall, keep poisoning our hearts and then we stop buying your product. What’s disappointing the most I’ll add is how sneakily this app went about it. Didn’t even have the courage to rip the bandage clean off.. just a slow descent into paywall hell, and they did so that we wouldn’t notice how far their fingers were reaching for our pockets. It’s a shame to see what this app has come to. I’ve been using this app for years I made my best content using this app. It used to be a vessel that wanted you to make content and videos and fun stuff with it. Now this app wants nothing but the food in your family’s mouth if it means they can profit off of that too, might as well lock the whole app behind a paywall too, that’s a nice idea for you (sarcastic double wink) Yes, I am broke but you CapCut, have shattered me…
