We know and love Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) for its electric 5v5 action. But with Project NEXT, it’s ringing in a whole new wave of gameplay improvements. Here’s everything that’s different in this updated old favourite.
Log in to a new experience
MLBB’s main interface has undergone a major overhaul, with characters and their stories taking centre stage. Each season, the game shines the spotlight on a different hero. Tap them to learn about their backstories and personalities, and discover a new side to these well-loved characters.
Miss the old interface? Switch back to it in settings to get the best of both worlds.
Join an event (or three)
There’s always something happening in the Land of Dawn, introducing new faces, lore and more through initiatives such as Project NEXT.
Achieve Mythical Immortal
Move over, Mythical Glory. The pinnacle of ranked play is now Mythical Immortal. The point system that used to kick in when players reach the Mythic rank has been changed to the star system used in other levels. You’ll achieve Mythical Immortal status when you score 100 stars, earning rewards along the way.
Once in the coveted ranks of Mythic, you get to vote for the exclusive Mythical skin. Earn up to 10 Mythic coins per season by winning ranked matches, then exchange 40 mythic coins for the Mythical skin as the quintessential badge of honour.
Try a different talent
The game’s emblem system has been simplified so you can focus on selecting the best talents for your heroes. Choosing from eight distinct options, you can mix and match your core talent and two standard talents to create the most fearsome triple threat.
While it’s still recommended to assign your heroes talents that are within their classes, it is now more of a suggestion and not a rule. And since the updated emblem system only requires Emblem Fragments or Magic Dust to upgrade, you can save your Battle Points and spend them somewhere else.
Get a second impression
It’s been a while since we first met the Eruditio rangers: Bruno, Johnson, X.Borg, Layla and Lolita. So imagine our excitement when we learn that they’re getting new looks, voice lines and backstories that expand on their ties to one another, as well as Eruditio, the City of Scholars.
If Lolita is your mainstay, prepare to slay on the battlefield with her enhanced skills. The standout? Look no further than the redesigned Guardian’s Bulwark, which turns enemies’ skills back on them by reflecting hits directed at its centre.
