Half Day LA and Hollywood Tour: travelers new to LA

As a couple new to LA, with only one full day to experience the city, we chose this highly rated tour to show us the highlights. It did! Doug, our guide, has lived in LA most of his life, and was a fountain of knowledge about it and it’s many faces. He was exceptionally friendly and good at keeping in touch through complicated pick up arrangements, very flexible in adjusting time frames to allow for our location being a distance from his usual pick up points. Doug’s tour showed us all the neighborhoods and activity areas of LA with interesting commentary about each. He kept us entertained throughout the long drives inevitable in LA. We received a good overview of the city. We will know where we want to spend time the next time we are here! We especially appreciated Doug’s effort to get us close to our airport hotel when the tour ended. We do agree with an other reviewer that the tour is about an hour too long. However, it takes so long to get around in LA, that may be a hazard of the city. Come prepared with some protein bars in case your energy runs low. One important point: I found it difficult to find a bathroom at the break stop. That is the only part of the trip that is poorly planned. I eventually found one in a church across the square from where we stopped to break. Despite Doug’s direction to “go in any restaurant”, the few restaurants present had signs saying “guests only”. Aside from that, I do recommend this tour.

I had an exceptional experience at the Holiday Inn, all thanks to the outstanding service provided by Jaswanth and Mary Alice at the front desk. Their dedication and commitment to ensuring my stay was comfortable and enjoyable truly stood out.Jaswanth and Mary Alice went the extra mile to accommodate my requests and preferences. They not only greeted me with warm smiles but also took the time to understand my needs and preferences. Their attention to detail was impressive, and it was evident that they were genuinely focused on making my stay memorable.One of the highlights of my stay was the lovely room they arranged for me. It exceeded my expectations in every way, from the cleanliness to the beautiful view it offered. Their knowledge of the hotel's offerings and their ability to match them to my preferences truly made a difference.Furthermore, Jaswanth and Mary Alice's professionalism and courtesy were exemplary. They were always ready to assist with any questions or concerns I had, and their friendly demeanor made me feel valued as a guest.In summary, Jaswanth and Mary Alice are exceptional front desk workers who excel in customer service. Their dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to guest satisfaction made my stay at the Holiday Inn truly memorable. The Pinnacle Athens Fabulous Choice

Let me start with the minute I walked into the lobby. I was greeted with more than one front desk attendant who were effusive about welcoming me. They were determined to make my stay as superior an experience as possible!! The 5 star greeting paled in comparison to what happened next!! A piece of jewelry I was wearing broke off while I thought happened while I was dining in the most charming of breakfast venues on the 8th floor. I did not realize it had fallen off until later in the day. So I couldn’t say for sure it happened there but in the event it could have, I notified the front desk staff. An amazing gentleman met me on the 8th floor at the end of the day to scour the floor on hands and knees along with with me to search for it. Of course, again, I was not 100% sure the missing piece broke off while I was at the hotel. Nevertheless, the staff member would not give up on the search. He even went through that day’s garbage. No luck. I therefore assumed the piece had broken off somewhere else in the city of Athens and not in my hotel. So the next day I ventured out on my fabulous three island boat tour and then returned to my hotel. I was greeted by the same staff member who with great elation handed me the missing piece!! He had taken the extraordinary step of going through the vacuum cleaner garbage bag and Lo and behold found it!!! How can you not stay at this charming, lovely, authentically Greek hotel in a fab location with a staff that goes above and beyond!!! Oh and did I mention it has a view of the Acropolis??!!
