I went in to SoS with indifferent and honestly low expectations. The ads I’ve seen don’t do it justice though I know it’s a hard genre to advertise. I really like the multiple things you can do instead of just managing your settlement. I think the little exploration tasks and survival challenges really add flavor to it and are pretty fun. The in game transactions are honestly fair priced and you still get a lot of biocaps for completing missions so unless you have something specific in mind you might not even need to buy to progress. I like the multiple chiefs and their different combat abilities too. I think the events are pretty neat. The dailys are really beneficial too. If I had any criticism it’d be that it might be nice to have troops linger in the battlefield instead of completely returning. It can be a little cumbersome to have two intel missions right next to each other, 80km out, and have to wait 3 minutes for them to come back to send them out again. Though it’s entirely possible I’ve missed something. All in all, I’m having fun with it. Being in an alliance actually feels helpful for timers and such when in other games I’ve barely noticed their assistance. For reference for where I’m at in the game — I’m upgrading my HQ to 18 and I’ve been playing religiously for a week.
Its get repetitive

Id have to say that this game is basically like every other survival game.. either you grind continuously or pay. The only exception to this is that you will constantly get rewards that will actually help you progress and maintain what you have been building. This is not like clash of clans where you definitely need money to get to higher lvls, there after so long things takes days and weeks to upgrade and theres nothing you can do really besides pay to speed up or wait it out.. Here you can wait, speed up using “speedups”, pay to complete the upgrade or if you join an alliance have your alliance help with speeding up your upgrade all at the same time if you wanted.! I will say that there is little to no explanation of how things work at all, you have to play and play and play until you get a handle on it and if you never have played a game like this before it will seem pointless to play. Upgrading troops/buildings, getting talent traits, how to march, heroes and gear nothing is really explained well after you get to those points and its annoying but a little bit of playing and figuring it out isnt too bad. Overall this game is cool to play with or without you spending money or not but definitely need a strategy going in or you will be playing catch up for awhile.. Also i have yet to spend a dollar and i have made it to upgrading all my buildings to lvl 20, it took a little bit but it wasnt hard at all. 10 more lvls and you max out so that says something i guess..
Game Buggy, Bad Storyline/telling, but GREAT Mechanics!
LlamaLuna0
TL;DR Mechanics of the game are really good, but the storyline is lackluster and the game is buggy, and they need to tone down on in app purchases. I originally was reading the bad reviews on this game, so I decided to download it and try it out. Most of the reviews were right, the game is buggy and lags. The storyline is confusing and it doesn’t go into depth enough, leaving so many questions. I get that you are supposed to find out more as you level up your heroes and such, but the beginning storyline is lackluster. The mechanics, however, are super easy to understand and are very easy to use! The upgrade and build mechanics are fairly easy to use and you can upgrade your builds really easily. The one problem I have with the build feature is that you cannot move preexisting buildings around. So if you unlock a new area, and fix up a building, you can’t move it to be near the rest of the buildings like it. So if it was a military building I unlocked, then I cannot move it to be nearby my other military buildings. Other than that, the game is pretty good. I don’t want to sugarcoat this game, it definitely needs some more development in specific areas, and the in app purchases need to tone it down a bit, and I feel like you need to have a way in the game to unlock these special heroes and stuff without having to pay real life money. In my opinion the game deserves more players and attention, but also needs to sort out their dev team.
HONEST REVIEW. Good, but bad.

The game has a pretty standard storyline that’s very much similar to the likes of walking dead (i liked the Daryl colab. It was quite cool.) The game is addictive and I made quite a few friends playing this game. However, this game can also be quite the money pit. Especially because of how much it pins you against other players whether it’s within the state or in State vs State. This is NOT a free to play type of game. This isn’t like some kind of idle game you can play mindlessly and log on every few days when you’re bored. It gets quite competitive and frankly a bit toxic. People drop hundreds if not thousands of dollars to be at the top of the food chain leaving F2P in the dust. It’s more competitive in terms of whoever spends more the more power you get and the more you’ll win. You can have players take months to get to plasma or you can players having plasma and unlocking them within a few weeks. There’s also discrepancy in what some players are charged. The game is way cheaper in other countries which makes it very easy for other countries to get ahead. Again, this is more of a if you spend a LOT of money you get powerful quickly and not so much of a F2P game. It’s competitive and it can be fun but also toxic as whales tend to kind of ruin the game for everyone else as they start to use your camp as some sort of raiding ground for resources for their own upgrades. I’ve met some cool people playing this game but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they have money to blow and are bored.
