The guts of the gameplay are fairly solid, but the extrinsic motivations that are on top of them (I.e. everything with the currencies) is totally broken and are clearly a port from the payed version without a clear understanding of what the + version would be. Many of the reviews complain about using red coins for extra lives on a run. That actually seems fine to me, as the cost of continuing a run and going for a high score should be large and increasing to make high scores meaningful. The piece that feels broken to be is the trials system. This is an Apple Arcade game. There is no reason that you would want to introduce friction into playing the game longer without paying, so why do you only get two tasks every hour if tasks are one of the main ways to get gems and experience? You open by getting 10 or so, but then after you complete a task it takes an hour for that slot refresh, or you can pay the primary currency (also used for buying new characters or revives). They don’t store up when not playing, but you get a small stockpile of 6 at midnight. Why is there any friction on this part of the game in the + version? Clearly this was a thoughtless carryover from the F2P version where there is value is adding friction users can pay their way around, but it totally breaks the point of this being in Apple Arcade.

1) After max upgrading a character you shouldn’t be able to get character coins for that character from the prize wheel, style bonus, or event(s). Nor should you be able to go past the absolute max amount of coins needed in general (which is about 175 (at least for Sonic)). 2) I’ve noticed that after you get Silver either from the prize wheel or by stacks of 10 character coins that his specific coin still remains in the prize pool for the wheel when Blaze is still available for grabs. Getting Silver character coins should be resigned to only to Style Bonus or from events to make room in the prize wheel pool to unlock other characters. 2a) Add more characters to the spin wheel prize pool. 3) I know the game is procedurally generated but some combinations of obstacles shouldn’t happen such as a duck/roll (which drastically reduces visibility) followed by a (low visibility) jump into another roll with the spiked crab guys. Since they’re spiked when you roll on to them from the top you take damage and in the event you get this obstacle combo with no coins the run is over by an inherently unfair situation.

Honestly I feel like they abandoned this version of Dash, other than a FEW new events like the Knuckles series event, the game seems frozen in time just going through the same old characters, literally boot this version up next to the normal non apple arcade dash, everything is different, the UI is different too, frankly it doesn't bother me much as the ui in dash + seems less confusing but it still shows how these aren't updated together, my main issue is the lack of event areas and the lack of new characters, sonic dash gets all these cool new characters and dash + just gets them dripped to it, at least character wise i have not seen ONE special area.I also don't really like how you have to wait a whole week to get a new character, i'd like there to be more interesting ways to unlock more characters like in sonic dash regular or even mario kart tour.I really dont understand why they can't just have these two be updated together, if this was up to date then yes, it would be perfect. Honestly i could recommend this if you really don't care much about the characters and areas and just want a quick time killer, or if you want to play the old sonic dash, but if you actually like sonic and wanna try out different areas and new characters, be warned this game seems to be frozen in time.

So I got this game for free, and it was so fun, but… There are a few problems I would like to talk to you about. First of all, whenever you get knocked-out, you have to spend red star rings to revive. It starts off with paying 2 red rings, then 4, then 8, then….16… then more! Which that really makes me upset, so please fix that. Also, I do not like how you have raised the prices on the characters you have to buy with red star rings. In Sonic Dash they were each like 60 Red Star Rings, and in Sonic Dash+, you raised them to a price of 100 Red Star Rings, like, what the heck. Also, I don’t think that it was a good idea to just change Sonic Dash to be exactly like Sonic Dash+ So I’m not saying to get rid of Sonic Dash+, but if the games are the same, then what is the point of having Sonic Dash+ if the original and the + version are the exact same! You should download this game, but be weary to save up your Red Star Rings for what you want. I’m just saying.
