more 112% of our team loved the big changes we made to the Stats section. (Some people may have voted twice; we can’t say for sure.)
- There’s a new Ads tab where you can see important WordAds data like the number of ads served and revenue earned.
- We added a UTM tab so you can see source and medium for your site traffic. There’s also a Devices view that shows you which devices your visitors used.
- When you select “Today” or another daily period in the Post Stats screen, you’ll see “Last 7 days” instead of hourly data that doesn’t exist. We can’t predict the future just yet.
- We fixed some visual issues with charts and made design improvements throughout the Stats section.
We solved a caching issue on the Insights screen that would display a blank Posting Activity area. Now you can always see what you’ve been up to.
We made small visual improvements on the Activity Logs screen, like titles, icons, and colors.
We added Custom Post Types as an experimental feature. Test it out and let us know what you think. #science
One last thing: if your site is authenticated with an application password, you don’t need to have XML-RPC enabled. The downside is that only limited features are available. Once enabled, you can get those features back.

We made a technical update that reduces the size of your app by about 6 MB. What will you do with all that newfound space?
It’s easier to find, see, and change the visibility settings of existing posts. The “Done” button also won’t disappear when you set the password while publishing a password-protected post.
Looking good: we updated shortcut icons and illustrations to better match the rest of the app, as well as fit better with your device.
We fixed an issue so post previews now work properly for certain sites using Business and Commerce plans.
When you add a new self-hosted site, you’ll be asked for your app password to authenticate. Keep it secret. Keep it safe.

Heads up, content creators—we’ve been hard at work making some big changes to the Post Settings screen.
- We added a “Status” field that helps you quickly move posts between draft, pending, private, scheduled, and published states.
- We brought back the “Publish Date” area for draft and pending posts. That way you can pick a publish date ahead of time without officially scheduling the post.
- The password field uses a different font (Menlo, if you’re interested) so it’s easier to read similar-looking characters.
- Give your followers the VIP treatment by setting post access levels for all subscribers, paid subscribers, and the general public.
- Toggle post comments and pingbacks on or off using the “Discussion” settings.
While we were at it, we made several other helpful updates in various areas of the app.
- On the “Publishing” screen, you can toggle “Email to Subscribers” to automatically notify your subscribers when a post is published. Start the presses.
- The slug editor has a permalink preview to show what a post’s final URL will look like.
- We added “Taxonomies” to Site Settings so you can manage your content groups at the site level.
- Thanks to some design fixes in the “Categories” picker, it’s more obvious that you can pick multiple categories for a post.
- File sizes are now visible in the Site Media Details area. No more guesswork.

You can now create an excerpt for your posts and get auto-suggested tags using Apple Intelligence. It’s also easier to pick your tags in Post Settings. Now that’s smart.
We made a few visual fixes for iOS in areas like the site creation flow, the media selection screen, and the Stats screen.
While we were at it, we also squashed a few bugs.
- Reader articles render properly on devices with Display Zoom enabled.
- The “Add Media” button stays visible in the media library. No more disappearing act.
- You can search in Reader Subscriptions without freezing the app.

We made improvements to how you manage your content and work with media. You'll find a completely redesigned Post Settings screen that makes configuring your posts smoother and more intuitive.
We also enhanced our experimental editor with better VideoPress integration and improved authentication for private sites. Your media will display properly now, no matter your site's privacy settings.
Finally, we squashed several bugs and made things more reliable.
- The app won't hang anymore when you open your Posts or Pages. (We know how frustrating that was.)
- We fixed a crash that happened when saving certain editor settings.
- Those annoying error popups on your dashboard? Gone.
- Application passwords now work more smoothly behind the scenes.

We added a new Subscribers screen that shows all of your email and Reader subscribers. Now you know who’s reading (and loving) your content.
We made improvements to the TimeZone Picker so you’ll see more accurate suggestions for your local timezone.
We gave a small facelift to the Post List, like streamlining labels, making images smaller and removing extra space, and moving loading indicators so they’re more visible.
Finally, we squashed a number of bugs.
- You’ll no longer see HTML encoded characters on various screens, so all your ampersands look exactly as they should. Rock on.
- The “Restore” and “Download Backup” flows don’t cover the navigation bar anymore.
- Domains are now correctly sorted on the Domain Search screen. Finding what you’re looking for is easier than ever.
- We fixed a tag where “WordPress” was incorrectly capitalized in the Reader. (That one was keeping us awake at night.)
26.0 17/07/2025
We made some small visual changes on the Comment Details screen. You’ll now see this screen when you view a comment from your Notifications.
We added a banner to the Me tab, which asks new users to verify their email. Once you do, you’ll have full access to everything in the app. The possibilities are endless.
You’ll find that the currently selected site is always visible in the sidebar, no matter what. Hide-and-seek is over.
We also squashed several bugs.
- YouTube video embeds now show up properly in comments.
- You can now see a preview of unedited draft pages created from templates.
- You won’t see deleted sites in your app anymore. So long, farewell.
- The app syncs blogs properly after they’ve launched.
- The Stats screen shows accurate numbers for visitors and views.
- If you’re using an iPad, the app won’t crash after you delete the last site attached to your account. (It’ll still look pretty empty, though. Maybe consider making a new site?)

Three things this month:
1. We've updated the UI for iPadOS 18 – no more tab bar, everything is navigation-based, which should be a better use of the larger screen size.
2. Some iOS 18 improvements – a few color tweaks, some bugfixes, and most importantly – tintable icons!
3. We've been hard at work on an experimental new block editor. It's not ready for full-time use, but we'd love your feedback! Check it out in Me > App Settings > Experimental Features.
If you have feedback on any of these features, we'd love to hear it – reach out to us at mobile-support@automattic.com!
