1. The user interface is great and clear. There's a lot of things to learn but once you do, you can always navigate yourself well, and all information is accessible, unlike in some apps where it's just not there at all. 2. Great titles. Really good quality stuff, in both, novels and the comixes, stuff has minimal errors, it's well edited, the most popular series are all great reads (the only thing left is to figure out which ones you want to read!) 3. Lots of technically free-to-read content. If you're a student, Tapas is for you. It's more comfortable if you pay and unlock episodes, yes. But it's possible to never pay for anything. Tehre's a system that you get a "wait until free" chapter every 3 hours for most novels (or ~24 hours for most comics). There are "events" where you can get the in-app currency "ink" for fulfilling the event. This ink expires in a given set of days (usually 1-10 days, they let you know always) but you can use it to permanently unlock a chapter and then it's yours. The freely unlocked chapters are unlocked only for 72 hours. So bingeing is impossible for free, (you can stack up and read 3 episodes of a comic in a row or about 15 chapters in a book). But you can combine this with unlocking for the free ink. The last 20 (or more) chapters of most things are locked so I recommend saving this ink for unlocking those. However, honestly, after using the app for almost a year, I have a monthly budget for myself and I happily support the creators along with utilizing the free options :) Last thing I love? You can screenshot funny or cute moments and send to your friends, so I was able to rope several of mine in to joining as well and now we can discuss the books we're resding! Rly 10/10 app! Oh you can also download (bought) chapters for plane rides and midnight wake ups on hikes with no signal!
