HOW WE GET YOU OFF HINGE
When it comes to online dating, people are so busy matching that they’re not actually connecting, in person, where it counts. Hinge is on a mission to change that. So we built an app that’s designed to be deleted. Here’s how:
* We quickly learn your type. You’ll only be introduced to the best people for you.
* We give you a sense of someone’s personality. You’ll get to know potential dates through their unique answers to prompts, as well as information like religion, height, politics, dating intentions, relationship type, and much more.
* We make it easy to start a conversation. Every match begins by someone liking or commenting on a specific part of your profile.
* We want you to feel confident about meeting people in person. Selfie Verification makes it easier for daters on Hinge to ensure that they are who they say they are.
* We ask how your dates are going. After exchanging phone numbers with a Match, we’ll follow up to hear how your date went so we can make better recommendations in the future.
The app is free to use. Members looking to see everyone who likes them or send unlimited likes can upgrade to Hinge+. To access additional features, including enhanced recommendations and priority likes, we offer HingeX.

8 likes per DAY is too little

honestly it’s a good concept and a fresh one among all the dating apps. the profiles feel more professional and “premium” but you also have to pay a premium to send more likes. i get this could also be one of the reasons why the profiles on there are higher quality than other dating apps, but honestly limiting likes to only 8 a day is rubbish. at least it keeps me from opening the app so often, and i’m even less interested in purchasing any kind of premium stuff.
On 7/3/25 I received this message from Hinge after only being a member for less than 5 days: “Your account was banned for violating one or more of our policies.” I read through their policies carefully & found I’ve done nothing wrong, but no reason was given why my account was banned. As a paid member, I immediately submitted an appeal. Hinge replied by saying they can’t give a reason for banning my account due to privacy. Thankfully Apple was able to refund my money. I was so disgusted by their unjust action, that if a refund wasn’t possible,I’d gladly file a lawsuit. I then requested that all my data be deleted including my photos. Not surprisingly, Hinge replied that this isn’t possible, incase my data needs to be handed over to the authorities. I’ve used CMB, Tinder, Bumble, & I’ve never come across anything so unjust & disrespectful.
We made performance improvements which means you may end up deleting our app even sooner than you intended.
