Short answer: yes, it’s free, you literally have nothing to lose. Not only that, it’s giving away list of free stuff at the moment which you don’t wanna miss.Otherwise, let’s mention the elephant in the roomDevice capability:Unless you have quite a recent phone, you most likely won’t be able to play it, as the older models simply can’t handle such a graphically intense game like this. Many people have said they can’t even open it on iPhone 7, I’m using the 2nd gen iPhone SE and by the looks of it get 20-30 FPS, take that as you will.It will also be very battery draining, so it isn’t something you’ll play a lot on-the-go unless you have some way to charge it. If you don’t have the requirements for this, it’s always available on PC as well.Graphics:The graphics are amazing, especially for a free mobile game. The things you see in the trailers? That’s actually how the game looks. One downside is that when things are far away it’s extremely low poly, but it’s understandable as it needs to do that to improve frame rates and to not require even more from your device, so that’s not really an issue for the most part. The colors are very vibrant, and the character models look really good. It also has a bit of physics to the clothes. The open world is absolutely massive, I probably haven’t even unlocked a third of the map yet and I’ve played for probably around 30 hours or more at this point. And it’s fun to explore!Mechanics:If you’ve played breath of the wild, you’ll probably be familiar with quite a few mechanics: stamina, climbing almost anything, gliding, picking up things in the wild, open world, improving stamina at statues etc. However, the combat is very different, as you have elements, different combat style, and elements react with one another. At first the element reactions can be a bit more difficult to learn, but eventually you’ll get a hang of it. Because of this you’ll want to switch characters often (you have a maximum of 4 at a time in your party) to have these reactions. The adventure rank gives you rewards and unlocks different dungeons or to continue the story. There is no multiplayer though, so that’s a bit sad. But at the same time, it would give those who have paid a very large and arguably unfair advantage. You level up characters and weapons, and can enhance items using other weapons or exp crystals. You can also get more from constellations if you gain their duplicates and can improve talents. There’s also ascension which I haven’t really gotten to yet, so won’t really go into detail.Gacha: I haven’t really used it that much, but just looking at the rates I’m not too keen on the chances compared to something like arknights (obviously it’s better than some gacha games, but personally I think it could be better). You also get weapons from it which is a bit less exciting, but eh, it’s something. Characters are always 4* or 5*, but at least you get a guaranteed 4* on every 10 pulls. You also get a certain currency every time you pull something, and a higher value currency if you get a dupe, but it isn’t all that good.Gameplay: Certain character have a certain weapon class, and can only equip that type of weapon. There’s the normal attacks, charged attacks, plunge attacks, special attacks and elemental bursts. Regular attacks are just spamming the attack button, charged attacks are holding it, plunge attacks are of you jump from a higher place and attack and will deal massive AOE damage, the special uses your element and usually takes a few seconds to recharge, while your elemental burst only charges if you collect element orbs (will be dropped from attacking enemies) and is very powerful. You also have the option to dodge by tapping the sprint button. Some attacks though, if you get hit, you can’t really get out of them, but you will continue to get knocked back and take damage which isn’t very fun.Personally I think it’s really fun to explore the map and finding secrets, like koroks in botw, but not nearly as many, and won’t be useless once you’ve got the required amount, since this time you’re rewarded with chests with loot. You’ll also pick up some side quests on your journey.Pros:-free to play-amazing graphics, especially for a mobile game-the map is massive and fun to explore and has tons of rewarding secrets-the combat is fun, and can be very versatile-the story is also quite fun and isn’t like a visual novel with heaps of dialogue Cons:-the gacha rates aren’t the best-some attacks lock you in but continue to damage you-requires quite a good deviceTL;DRyou should play it since it’s free and they’re giving out tons of free stuff now, the graphics are amazing especially for a mobile game and the gameplay is fun, and the open world is massive. Some downsides is that the gacha rates aren’t the best (although still not bad), and it requires quite a high operating device.I cannot stress this enough: this is by far one of the most gorgeous and fun free games, and it’s even on mobile of all things. It even beats some of the massively budgeted full price stuff by a long shot *ahem, sword and sheild*Might have missed some things, I apologize for that, but should be a lot of the most important things.
