It must be done with perfect accuracy or consequences could be fatal.
This requires tons of mathematical calculations... in real life. But in this game, you just need to tap the buttons in the right order and at a good angle so your rocket can be launched into the orbit safely. You can steer the rocket a bit by turning your device to the sides which may save you a few launch attempts.
