This version of voice note taker - TypeVoice included improved audio recording — you can now minimize the recorder and browse your notes across the app at the same time. We also updated the Home screen: the center button starts microphone recording instantly, while the left button lets you import audio, video, PDF, and other files to create summaries or explore long transcripts in chat.

We’ve significantly refreshed the Home screen with a cleaner, more spacious design, giving your notes more room to shine. Creating a new note is now faster than ever. Instead of one large button, you’ll now see two quick actions at the bottom: start recording instantly with the microphone or import audio, video, PDF, or a video URL. We’ve also completely redesigned the recorder. With just one tap, recording starts right away. Swipe up anytime to access more details, including real-time audio waveforms. Recording now works even more smoothly in the background. You can lock your screen and the session will continue, while the current status stays visible on the Lock Screen. We also improved the default summary format, so your notes are now even more detailed and useful.

We’ve redesigned the interface for creating custom AI prompts to make it faster and more intuitive. Now you can simply type a short request — for example “main points” or “key takeaways” — and instantly preview how your AI note card will look. Transcription is now automatic after importing audio. Your recordings are transcribed right away, so you no longer need to manually tap Transcribe and Summarize. Search has also been optimized. Notes and content now load and appear much faster, making it easier to find what you need. This update also introduces full iPad support. Combined with iCloud synchronization, your notes are now available across all your devices — iPhone and iPad — keeping everything in sync wherever you work.

This version of Speech to text - TypeVoice introduced a new flexible grouping system to help you organize your notes more efficiently. You can now group your notes in one unified view by different criteria — by date (Today, Yesterday, This Month), by category (Meetings, Lectures, Interviews), or by content type (recordings, imported audio, video, or PDF). Additionally, a single note can belong to multiple categories, giving you more control and flexibility in how your content is structured.

We’ve improved how icons are assigned to your notes. Now, every new note automatically inherits the icon of its category. This makes it much easier to visually scan your list and quickly find what you’re looking for. We’ve also enhanced category and note synchronization. iCloud now saves not only your categories, but also the relationships between categories and notes — ensuring everything stays properly connected and consistent across your devices.

In this update Speech to text TypeVoice, we’ve introduced custom categories. Simply tap Create to the right of the last category, choose an icon, select a color, add a name — and you’re done. New notes will be automatically assigned to your custom categories based on context. For example, if you import an audio recording of a meeting or a podcast interview, your notes will be automatically labeled as Meetings, Interviews, or Lectures. In Settings, you can further customize category order, colors, icons, or rename existing categories at any time. All categories support synchronization, so your structure stays consistent across devices. Enjoy the new features. Translate results into multiple languages and learn more efficiently.
