Fascinating to have: total time out skiing, vertical drop, distance traveled and kcals plus a few other measurements. However as an aging old man my interest was to measure heart rate as I am aware that while skiing my hr goes way above ‘normal’ training most of which is on an Exercycle. First day max 149bpm - above my max for age. Learning curve v useful. As you age probably you should be aware of cardiac events related to ‘extreme’ exercise which in reality are only moderate exercise in a younger group ie our children when skiing! On other side - we are at altitude here 8600ft in condo. Sleep has not been good and the sleep app always gives a ‘very poor’ opinion about my sleep- had to take my watch off! This is a very useful, easy to wear and attractive watch. I bought Polar because an eon ago I used Polar chest hr monitors for running - it’s amazing how the tech has progressed!
Well done Polar

I have been a Polar owner since 2000 , owned M52, 610, 625X and now M430, I like the feedback that o get from Polar Flow, it's spontaneous syncing and those of us who used the older models we had to sync the watch with infra red USB so that the Software can capture the data after workout. This is really good and simple to use. Polar has simplified everything. Just wished M430 had a barometric altimeter
Useless

I bought a Polar Flow after having a Garmin Fenix five for a number of years I wanted something that I could wear while still wearing my traditional watch which I missed. the application that comes with is useless, doesn’t seems to be no way of finding any immediate heart rate records everything only syncs when you open the app up so you can’t get anything in real time it’s just awful I think the actual device itself is really good in the sense of it clearly picks up a lot of information and the information it picks up is stored somewhere but the app that comes with it is so poor that it doesn’t actually allow you to pick up any information.
Syncing

Clunky interface, always seems to want to sync the watch when I go to start an activity and can take 10 minutes to finish before I can start recording activity. Usually end up turning Bluetooth off on the phone and starting watch and then turn Bluetooth back on. Would make more sense to prioritise recording an activity and allow the sync to be cancelled/delayed when required.
This update provides small stability enhancements and resolves isolated issues.
