I used to quite like this game. Then I ran out of storage and so I offloaded it. I just got another phone and I recalled liking it, so I downloaded it again, after a year or two not playing it at all. The game is so different now. I can’t even see what I’m working towards. Am I still renovating a garden and house? I can’t even see where to do that anymore. Worse, every time I fail a level the dominant option that stands out is to pay $2 real money to continue, have never seen a free to play game do *that* before. Then it takes about three touches on the minus one life, and tells me repeatedly about losing my streak, etc, etc. I feel like it’s pretty despicable behaviour really. So unethical, and that’s saying a lot for free to play, pay to win, that I find this the most unethical of that bunch. I saw I could change the outfits of the main characters. I went to change the outfit, I did not see the very small print on my now normal sized phone screen, before I had a 4” screen would not have had a chance. It wanted $5 of real money just for a dress!!! And every single outfit was priced in real money, even the awful ones. Then if that wasn’t bad enough, there’s the tutorial showing me the new “shop”, not one item in the shop is free. And then the tutorial forced me to scroll right, and suddenly there’s the $200 items. Don’t get me wrong, I pay for games all the time, I have a collection of PS4 and PC games I’ve paid up to $100 for. Even iOS games. But in a free to play game it should not be constantly being shoved down your throat. This is very unethical the way you have structured it, someone desperate to pass a very hard level, the one I was on before I offloaded the game looks at their options and the pay $2 to continue really stands out. I would much prefer a one-off payment, and there should be a continue option that doesn’t involve real money, and you shouldn’t have to touch three times to choose the “not paying” option. As it stands I won’t be spending a single cent on the game.
