Smoother interactions, faster loading, and an overall more seamless experience. - Threaded Conversations, Upgraded: We’ve added a few fun “superpowers” for members of the Pippin Supporters Club within conversation threads. You can now instantly open incoming lettres, no waiting; unless they’ve been scheduled with Express Mail. Just tap and hold a lettre in a thread to explore these options. This isn’t about FOMO, it’s about giving you more control over how you experience your correspondence. The option matters. - A Fresh Coat of Charm: We’ve added new artwork across the app for a bit more visual “oomph.” Expect clearer messaging, better flow and an overall more delightful experience. - The Usual Suspects: Bugs have been squashed. Crashes have been handled. Things are more stable than ever, we are better than our last update! Check out our Post Office and find out what we have in store for you - Threaded Conversation Improvements: We added two “superpowers” in Threaded Conversations for members of the Pippin Supporters Club. 1) Unsend Mail: We believe in being deliberate… but we also believe in second chances. You can now unsend a letter if you need to. Protip: tap and hold any undelivered lettre for more options. Also, Cancelled lettres put your stamps back in your stamp book! 2) Reschedule Express Mail: Plans change. Timing matters. You can now reschedule your Express Mail with ease. Similar to Unsending, just tap and hold any undelivered Express Mail lettres to access these “superpowers” Small disclaimer: these features are not meant to take anything away from Lettre’s core features which everyone gets to enjoy, regardless of membership status. These features are just our way of saying “thanks” to the members, without whose support, we would not be here today. Let’s dive in - Polish to Conversations / Threaded Messages: You can now stay on top of your lettres like a true pen-pal professional. We have ironed out most of the kinks and quirks of our latest Mailbox overhaul. Two things to note here, one: we have yet not decided what exactly to call it and two; there could still be some funny business here and there. Please feel free to hit the “contact us” or “report a bug” button(s) from the app’s settings tab any time you come across something you think needs our attention. Thanks to your reports, we get to improve the experience for everyone! - Express Mail, now with more control: Members of the Pippin Supporters Club can now Delete scheduled mail as well as recall scheduled Express Mail. Plans changed? Second thoughts? You’re in control. These are part of the growing list of “superpowers” that keep Lettre sustainable and 100% ad-free for everyone. - The usual suspects: Bugs old and new, squashed! We have also squeezed in some improvements and taken care of some critical annoyances. Some of the noteworthy ones: * Fixed issues where newly purchased or claimed papers and envelopes didn’t immediately appear in the asset picker if it was already open. * Fixed an iPhone issue where newly obtained stamps didn’t appear in the stamp slider after you ran out. * Resolved an iPhone navigation bug where canvas and envelope state persisted after sending a lettre and navigating to PenPals, occasionally breaking the Compose screen. * Various conversation and migration cleanups to improve stability and reliability. This update lays down some important groundwork for what’s coming next, and it brings not one, but two meaningful additions! We can't wait to share them with you. First and foremost: THREADED CONVERSATIONS is finally here! (we worked really hard for this) Say goodbye to a cluttered mailbox and the mental gymnastics of figuring out who said what (and when). With threaded conversations, your lettres are now neatly grouped by the person you’re writing to/from, making it dramatically easier to follow, reply, and actually *hold* a conversation. This is a huge quality-of-life improvement that brings clarity, continuity, and calm to your mailbox; exactly how letter writing should feel. We are also hoping this will improve response rates across the board as more people (should ideally) feel more comfortable continuing a correspondence. A little side note, for people who already use Lettre, the first-time you launch the app after this update, your Mailbox tab might take slightly longer to load up properly but we assure you it's a one-time-thing. People who join us after this update won't even know the difference. Secondly, we have "Lovebirds & Lettres": a little gift, on us To celebrate the month of love, connection, and handwritten affection, we’re releasing a free and limited-time giveaway for everyone! As usual, once claimed, it’s yours to keep forever - New Post Office content: Our freshest set of envelopes; "Nihon’s Spirits", inspired by quiet winters, folklore and the soft magic of traditional Japanese motifs → now available at the Post Office for anyone looking to give their lettres a calm, wintry touch. - Subtle envelope screen upgrades and fixes: Some of you reported some buggy behavior on our envelope screen so we went ahead and added some upgrades along with fixes to some annoying issues. Now you can just tap a stamp to apply it “fast” if you are tired of dragging and dropping all of your stamps as well as some “quality of life” changes which should make the overall experience much smoother. Due to popular demand, we also have some planned upgrades which are also coming soon; adding more customization options to your envelopes! Stay tuned and watch this space! - Regular suspects: of course, we’ve been tending to the regular suspects. Among others, we fixed an issue where tapping the sticker icon multiple times on the envelope screen could send you backwards and we squashed a crash that could happen when sending a lettre. Dress up your PenPal profile in style. - Onboarding, unblocked (for good we hope): We fixed a pesky bug where some folks got stuck in the PenPals onboarding at the “interests” step. You can now breeze through and start meeting new friends without detours. - Notifications behaving themselves: The notification permission prompt will now stop popping up every single time you open the app. (It was excited to see you, but we told it to calm down. It should be in its best behavior going forward) - Sign-in issues? We’ve got your back: If you ever run into trouble signing in, you can now email us straight from the error alert. This creates a support ticket and helps us help you: no login required. This should streamline reporting some of the “rare”er bugs so we can squash them faster and with more precision! Members of Pippin Supporters Club can now add frames (starting with a few, a lot more on the way) to show off some extra “schweg” on their PenPal profiles. Go try it out and let your PenPal avatars stand out better than before (without getting obnoxious) - Advanced Filters - City: Looking for PenPals a little closer to home (or just really into Parisian poets)? Introducing “City” Filters -> you can now filter your PenPals feed by Cities! Don’t worry, people who wish to remain anon will stay anon; we don’t snitch - Visual tweaks: Some subtle visual changes here and there; think cleaner layouts, italics where they actually belong and shiny new "Supporters Perks" badges to mark perks just for our beloved Pippin Supporters Club. Now it’s easier to spot what’s free and what’s supporter-exclusive. Everyone wins. - Better diagnostics: When using the “contact us” button (found towards the bottom of the Settings tab), now you can share better quality diagnostic information which will drastically improve how we discover and address bugs / errors in the future. Hello lovelies! Thrice in one week?! Our kickstarter campaign and ProductHunt win has certainly lit a fire in us. We secured the top #4 spot as a Product Of the Day last week and got our first lifetime membership pledge on our kickstarter; but enough celebrating, lets’ get to what’s new: (please read the last few release notes for more details on recent changes, ty!) - Performance improvements across the board: We tightened some screws and applied some elbow grease around the entire platform. Hey there! Twice in one week? Good things take time and this leg of updates have been some of the bigger stuff we have put out recently. Consider this a “hotfix” for the last update we put out earlier this week (will copy-paste some items from 2.3.3 on this release note). Let’s find out what’s new: - Be a part of Lettre history: We are live on Kickstarter! This month’s feature card at the Post Office features our first attempt at making Lettre free forever. Like you, we hate intrusive ads. We refuse to sell user data. And we won’t let corporate sponsors dictate what we build. We started Lettre as a small group of friends who love letters, technology and collectibles - and we want to build it with all the nice-stuff we have seen across spaces we love ourselves, independent, and truly free. Instead of being backed by investors who’d push us to compromise, we’d rather be backed by something far stronger: you, our community. One of our pledge rewards is lifetime membership/access to everything - go score! - Navigation overhaul (iPhone): This update brings huge usability changes to our iPhone version. Things are more “mobile friendly” with tabs at the bottom, better than before for sure. Let us know what you think! - New set of stationery: Gothic Coffee Break is a dark-themed stationery set of 7 papers and 4 envelopes - made for thinkers, writers and midnight letter-lovers. Hello beautiful members of our community, we are here today with another update! Even though this update took longer than the others so far, we think this wait is going to be worth it (we are still cooking)! Let’s jump into what’s new: - A new way to write: Lettre (on the iPad) now has full keyboard support! For the folks in the back - no pencil, no problem! Now you can “type” your lettres instead of using your fingers for (hopefully) a better experience. Just a heads up, this feature is still in its experimental phase and might come with some quirks and kinks. Please use the "contact us" button to let us know if you come across any issues or have any feedback to share, we love hearing from you. - Better social sharing: We have added some nice tweaks and upgrades to our web URL which is used to share Lettres on other socials. Check it out and let us know what you think! Sharing a PenPal lettre you like is now easier and looks nicer than before - Upgraded PenPal profiles: Now you can upload your own display/profile picture to use as your PenPal Avatar (if you want to)! Some subtle changes can also be seen across the board making the profile button more useful. Also, Maverick enters the roster of available avatars for members of the Pippin Supporters Club! Now you can choose new variants depicting Maverick among the other Park Buddies inside your PenPal avatar options. Hi there lovely folks! Another week another update for you all. This update is mostly under-the-hood stuff, a lot of them. Will spare you the details but here are some of the bigger items - iPhone stability: A lot of time was spent addressing bugs and stability issues after soft-launching a few weeks ago. Things are better now, more stable and less annoying than before. Includes fixes for (but not limited to) keyboard issues, sign up/log in issues, performance issues, UI issues, etc. This is still in its infancy and issues are still expected so please if you’re one of the cool folks using Lettre during this time, feel free to let us know what you think! From issues you’re facing to new ideas you think might be cool to have, we are always looking forward to hearing from you. Use the “contact us” button from the app to directly email us or reach out to us on our socials (check website for our discord/reddit and other socials) - New stamp pack!! - One of our fans love us so much that she made a pack of stamps appreciating the people she met here! Go check out Conshnobre’s “PenPal Inspirations” - a set of 8 unique stamps now available on our Post Office! - Fresh avatars! - Penny joins the club with some fresh avatars for your PenPal profiles! Your support keeps the community truly ad-free and our lights on - you all are the best buddies 5evr! - Change to “start conversation” in PenPals: No more extra taps to reply to a PenPal lettre after taking it to your inbox from the PenPal feed - Tapping “start conversation” from the PenPal feed will now directly take you to the compose screen (in reply mode), saving valuable time. Yes, the lettre you’re staring the conversation with will still be found in your inbox later but it’s more seamless now. Cleaner, leaner. - Social sharing upgrade: our "share" button is now more powerful than before. Share directly to Instagram stories with a full preview or other socials with a link which will take them to the lettre's full preview! Go try it out - when browsing through PenPal lettres on the feed, now you will see a “share lettre” button under the “save lettre” button. Go share your favorite PenPal lettres with the rest of the world! - The usual suspects: Small bugs, big bugs — gone (for now) These are some of the more major stuff among many minor tweaks here and there trying to make the experience better than our last update. Hello lovelies! We took a little longer than usual with our “weekly” updates this time around but we promise it was worth it! No beating around the bush, lets get to it — - SHARING LETTRES ON OTHER SOCIALS - It’s only fair that others also get to enjoy the wonderful stuff you all keep creating on this platform. You can now SHARE your favorite PenPal lettres! When browsing through PenPal lettres on the feed, now you will see a “share lettre” button under the “save lettre” button. Go share your favorite PenPal lettres with the rest of the world! (no you cannot share private messages, duh!) - Soft-launching on iPhone(s) - Keep it hush hush (for now as we work to stabilize it in the coming weeks). We are releasing a public build of Lettre on iPhones and is now available for you to download and try under one condition - you will report bugs you encounter by using the “contact us” button (pretty please). It is still learning to walk and we all know it takes a village to raise an early version. So expect all the goodness of the iPad app, just smaller and maybe with a weird bug here and there. - PenPals feed gets an upgrade - From now on, Recently viewed lettres won't show up in your feed - taking space. This way, your feed will stay fresh, longer than before (hopefully always). But don’t worry, if you need to revisit a previously viewed lettre, Tap Profile avatar > Recently Viewed lettres. Besides, if you really like a lettre, you can save it and if you REALLY like like a lettre, just start a conversation already! You miss all the shots you don’t take - Some changes to PenPal interactions - We take safety very seriously and are implementing some tweaks in how people under the age of 16 interacts with the PenPal feature. We lowered the required age limit for using the Penpals feature from 16 to 13 BUT people aged 13-17 will get an experience different from the rest. ie, People under the age of 17 will be able to see PenPal lettres sent by people in the same age group. People above 18 will see everything else. This should create a nicer and safer age barrier between the younger members of the community while also improving the overall quality of PenPal lettres the older members will be seeing from now on.
