The post-apocalyptic planet of Aida needs a hero – and in Tower of Fantasy, that’s you! But with so much to do in this vast action RPG, it can be hard to know where to start. Follow these helpful tips and you’ll feel like a champion in no time.

Stay on course
Tempted to head off into the great unknown? Resist the wanderlust and stick to the main questline until level 11 or so. You’ll gain access to valuable gear such as the Missile Barrage (a companion drone that’s a blast to unleash in combat) and a high-tech motorbike to help you speed through the wilderness.

Expand your arsenal
Raiders, robots and wild creatures roam Aida. To be sure you can deal with ’em, always have at least one flame weapon and one frost weapon in your inventory. Not only is frying and freezing enemies super-satisfying, you’ll need these weapons to reach some of the valuable chests and resources scattered around the world. Also look for a blade or blaster with a high shatter value – they’re great for punching through enemy shields.

Be an artful dodger
Executing a perfect dodge has its perks. For one, it triggers Phantasia mode, which temporarily slows time and instantly charges your standby weapons. Simply switch to one of those weapons to unleash a wicked discharge attack that makes short work of your foes! To master the tricky timing, practise dodging weaker enemies such as Hyena gang members.

Find diamonds in the rough
See white diamonds on the game map? These mark the location of valuable resources used to summon digital alter egos called Simulacra, which offer game-changing abilities. Most require a bit of puzzle-solving to retrieve such as using a fire weapon on a tar pit to access the goodies within) but try to track them down, stat!

Climb high
Although you can scale almost any vertical surface, climbing quickly drains your endurance – unless you know this sneaky tip! While climbing, release the virtual joystick to stop moving, tap the drop-down button, quickly double tap the jump button, then push the virtual joystick forward to reattach to the surface. Then repeat until you reach the top. Once you nail the timing (which takes some practice) you’ll be able to conquer any mountain without breaking a sweat!
