Remember that creepy house down the street? In the ’80s-inspired adventure The Get Out Kids, you’ll explore a similar place... to save your sweet dog! Help wisecracking sixth grader Molly and her nervous pal Salim find useful items (firecrackers, walkie-talkies) and escape tight jams. Could the frightening residents of Maxwell House actually be vampires? Better play it safe and pack some holy-water pistols!
What we love: The fun story. The kids feel as three-dimensional as their world; Molly is headstrong and lives with her supernatural-savvy grandma, while Salim is an ace student with a stutter whose parents are endearingly overprotective. The climax of their tale is such a shocker, you might find yourself yelling, “Get out!”
Quick tip: Use your binoculars to zoom in on the scrap of paper outside the shed in the woods; this will automatically snap a photo that’s dropped in your inventory. The six-digit number scrawled on that paper will come in handy later!
