The app crashes a few seconds after opening, every single time. I’ve tried reinstalling it, restarting my phone, and making sure everything is up to date — nothing helps. Please fix this issue as soon as possible. I can’t use the app at all in its current state.
Inadequate Label Management and Interface Issues in Gmail App
yakirbitan
I've encountered significant issues with the Gmail application, which have compelled me to rate it 1 out of 5 stars. My concerns are primarily centered around two critical aspects:Nested Labels Dysfunction: The app fails to properly implement nested labels. Contrary to the organized and hierarchical structure expected, the labels are not nested correctly, resulting in a disorganized and seemingly broken interface. This flaw significantly hampers the efficiency and ease of email management, a cornerstone functionality of any email application.Inconsistent Label Visibility Options: Another glaring issue is the discrepancy between the web interface and the app regarding label visibility. The option to hide System labels or regular Labels in the app does not mirror the functionality available on the web interface. This inconsistency leads to a fragmented user experience and diminishes the app's usability, especially for those who rely on these features for email organization.I have previously provided feedback about these issues, hoping for a prompt and effective resolution. However, my concerns appear to have been overlooked. It is disheartening to see such fundamental features remain unaddressed. An effective communication channel for feedback and timely bug fixes are crucial for user satisfaction and app improvement. I sincerely hope that my current feedback will be acknowledged, and that necessary improvements will be implemented soon.
Good prediction... the rest, not as good
Sofo_21
Great prediction during composing a mail. But seriously, other then that, basic things in iOS 14 like trying to copy a long text section that’s longer then screen length is just impossible. Jitters and goes back to start. Basic. Getting text info with meeting times and allowing from that to create a meeting is a must and not existing. I can do that from any Apple app and area in the phone. Calendar might be good to integrate but for sure the ability to share calendar events with family without the need to duplicate the event and from there it is like it’s own, standalone meeting vs being linked and getting updated whenever the core, original meeting is updated.
Dark mode issues/bugs (pretty bad)
d73p458
Gmail is awesome, we all know. Good job for it Google! There’s one big issue with the dark mode: when you share a link, Gmail opens in dark mode, and the text in the inputs is black against black background – unreadable! It includes the recipient email, email subject, etc.In addition, “Important” emails are often marked in a wrong way. The algorithm is not good. I keep changing what’s important and what’s not, but it’s just not good, Google. You have to work on it. I’ve been reporting those issues for years; this feature just doesn’t work in a smart way.
Stay on top of the work that matters with Gmail, part of Google Workspace. With secure email as the foundation, you can also chat, make voice or video calls and collaborate on projects with shared files and tasks – all in one place.
