What we love: Even when Skul perishes, he never truly dies. Every untimely end earns you an audience with the Witch – the one who called Skul to greatness in the first place – during which she’ll grant you a new skill. Each stage gives you the chance to get a new skull too. Pop one on to try new skills, movement speeds and health stats on for size.

Quick tip: Dash to move around effectively – tap the left button after throwing your skull to teleport to where it lands. Skul is unaffected by enemy attacks while dashing, so use it to strike enemies from the back where they’re vulnerable!
