GAMING 101

Don’t mess with a true mage

Choose to fight for light or darkness in Age Of Magic.

In Age Of Magic, mages know how to fight with their fists. And Roland is one tough true mage. Extensively trained in the magical arts from an early age, the towering main character also carries on the traditions of his ancestors: arms wrapped in iron armour and a staff to knock out enemies.

For many, it was Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings series who first showed us that wizards could really pack a punch. In games like Dungeons & Dragons, low-level mages could only cast a few simple spells. In order to survive to the next round, they’d have to roll up their sleeves and learn how to rumble. The idea that mages could shoot fireballs is actually something relatively new to the fantasy genre.

Of course, Roland can cast invisible shields and magic missiles too. True to its name, Age Of Magic takes place in a world that oozes spells and charms. From the royal city on the mountaintop to the dark caverns below, every hero boasts their own unique abilities and spells.

This game features exquisitely detailed design elements and realistic lighting effects. Whether it’s your hero’s outfit or their magic spells, these graphics will transport you to another world.

In the Light Campaign, you search for Shards from the past to exact vengeance on the Demon Legion and set your people free. Or play as the assassin Sharazar in the Dark Campaign and use your talent for mimicking spells to hunt down and slay Roland. These two paths both require you to assemble a squad with the most complementary skills, from Beastmen and Changelings to Elves and Dragonkin.

Don’t just stick to spells and magic books. The secret to real strength is hidden in hand-to-hand combat.
