Overall great app, I like info and functionality But asking direct access to my mail inbox and checking everything coming in is more then a bridge too far in this day and age of privacy. If we are going down this route I will through everything ! Please consider, we share what we want to share and that never means everything, even if this creates inconveniences sometimes.
Handy but some usability issues

Importing events usually works fine, but if you get some kind of nonstandard PDF from a hotel you’ll prob have to input the details manually. The developer needs to add in some more options for the calendar stuff - right now, exporting to iCal creates an all day event for every day of the trip in addition to all the actual events. This is totally unnecessary and clogs up my calendar - I know I’m on a trip; please let me display just the actual events I need to remember (flight, hotel, car rental pickup, etc - no all day events that tell me every day where I am).
It tries hard, but forwarded itineraries are wrong
Spode in HK
I use both Kayak and TripIt. And with both, when I forward my itineraries from my travel agent, it often is missing one of the flights. Interestingly, they both usually lose the first flight in my outgoing travel. So if I am going from HKG to JFK with a change of planes (e.g. in DBX) the saved trip does not have the first flight form HK, only the 2nd leg, e.g. from DBX->JFK. I end up having to manually edit or create new trip manually. This is why I don’t pay for pro features - the app does not save me much effort.
Great app but still short of perfection.

I imported a flight itinerary but your system somehow changed the year by 1. My hotel and flights were put into separate itineraries that were off by 1 year. I double checked the flight date to make sure I hadn’t made the mistake but the episode gave me a heart-attack a day before my vacation. I deleted and re-imported the flight itinerary several times but got the same weird mistake each time.
• TripIt is celebrating 20 years of travel innovation! As we continue to look forward, we’re also taking a look back at the last two decades. Keep your app up-to-date–we’ve got lots planned for this milestone year.
• We made a huge enhancement to Risk Alerts, expanding coverage to all the plans in your itinerary – lodging, car rental, train, transportation, restaurant reservation, meeting, concert, as well as flights. You’ll get a push notification if an incident such as a severe snowstorm, demonstration or strike, or emergency infrastructure closure has the potential to disrupt your trip. (TripIt Pro)
• Did you screenshot an event, snap a photo of a receipt, or get a PDF confirmation? Now you can easily turn it into a plan in your itinerary. Just select “Import from Photo/PDF” in the app. Or you can share directly from the image or pdf itself by choosing the TripIt app. With Apple Intelligence, TripIt transforms it into a plan for you.
