As Basim Ibn Ishaq, you ascend from street thief to prominent member of the Hidden Ones, a secret organisation sworn to protect humanity from injustice. In 9th century Baghdad, where the game is set, that injustice takes the form of the nefarious Order of the Ancients.

To dismantle this organisation, you’ll have to uncover the identities of its key members and exploit their weaknesses. Your survival on this daring mission rests on your ability to stay hidden as you infiltrate enemy fortresses and palaces, so make use of an array of tools and gadgets including a hidden blade, poison darts and smoke bombs. You can also rely on Enkidu, a trusty eagle who can soar to higher ground to spot and tag enemies.

Basim may be the hero, but the true star of Assassin’s Creed Mirage is Baghdad and its bustling metropolis. While it would do the game a disservice to call it an interactive history lesson, its virtual interpretation of this historic city is so immersive and teeming with life that there’s no book or movie that can offer the same level of immersion.
