You’re a dragon. You’re hungry. You eat stuff. Give Ubisoft credit; Hungry Dragon is the perfect name for this ferociously fun videogame.
The concept is straightforward: consume a steady diet of smaller creatures to stay alive. Swallow even more critters to unlock awesome new dragons and stat-boosting pets.
And the point of all this gluttony? Points, of course! At its fiery core, Hungry Dragon is a high-score chaser. Eat enough and you’ll earn a spot on the global leaderboards.
In the run above, we chowed down for nearly eight minutes (scoring a sweet 236,179 points in the process) before getting our comeuppance in the jaws of a fellow fire-breather.
Your challenge: using our favourite dragon – the chubby but nimble Don Drago – see if you can glide, gobble and gulp your way past our score. To keep it fair, disable all dragon pets and outfits. It’s just you, a pair of leathery wings and an insatiable appetite for (nearly) anything that moves.
Here are a few pointers:
Flame on
Nothing racks up points like a well-timed burst of fire. Don’t trigger your Fire Rush in the middle of nowhere. Save it for a densely-packed space to maximize the carnage – and your score.
Dine and dash
Even mindless eating machines aren’t invincible. Mines, poison and other threats can make short work of your dragon. Think twice before playing hero. If you’re outmatched, fly elsewhere.
Pub crawl
Searching for cool new locations is good fun, but one wrong turn and you can wind up in an area lacking a stable food source. Plan your route to hit up critter-rich spots like the Goblin City and the Troll Forest.
