I’m 53, i have a brain injury of 20 years, now further memory loss and slower processing due to severe vitamin deficiencies, and fear of dementia, I’ve clawed hands, am in extreme pain predominantly bedbound, i have no peripheral vision, this game makes me feel alive, i was in my 5th year studying architecture when i had an bicycle accident, i used to think and process so fast, i feel like im speeding up doing this game. I’m terrible remembering words get very frustrated, ive come first on this game several times the boost it’s given me. I will check out this companies other games. I really hope i might be able to start a business up if my brain doesn’t deteriorate further and improves alittle.Great game if ive not made it clear,(i make no money giving this review) I wish the ai would let me finish the games not do it for me when i break the l tactic steps so to speak. And occasionally ai jumps in distracting me doing a move taking my piece, i then lose my groove. Not sure if ai trying to rescue me from a mistake or play with me.

I have enjoyed this game but am now going to delete it. Many levels cannot be completed without the various power ups and obtaining these requires you to sit through the longest ads I have ever seen on a game. Moreover, in many games you need several power ups so have to watch these ads over and over again. On one game recently I spent more time watching ads than playing the game. I do not intend to submit to the blackmail of paying to remove ads so will simply not play again.Following my review I received an email from the game developer advising that they are reviewing the frequency of adverts, the length and the need to use multiple power ups to complete levels.I tried the game again and have not noticed any appreciable difference. One of the most advertisers is Royal Kingdom and all of its derivatives. You know, the game that advertises itself as being ad free whilst spoiling so many other games with incessantly long advertisements. There is a 120 second countdown timer when the ad starts but when that time has expired, it takes another 30 seconds to close the series of pop up windows that ensue. So 2.5 minutes to close the ad and this can happen several times in a game. Very poor. I have now deleted this again and am playing one of the free versions of mahjong.

Loved this game until the whole thing was changed by adding in a shelf where you put 4 tiles, which made it far harder, along with another mode where some robot arm appears (in a Mahjong game!) and selects 3 tiles. Got to grips with that though and paid to remove ads. But, the sneaky move here is that by making the game harder you need to use more shuffles and undos, since it’s not far into a game before there are zero matches. You will run out of them fast. You can only earn those every 10 matches so even in paid mode you’ll need to “buy” them by watching really long ads, some where you have to click a link to the App Store and go back to the game, clicking over and over to get through them. Sometimes the ad never goes so you never actually get the undo/shuffle anyway. So, after spending ages watching ads to get through level 249 I just got fed up with it and found a game on Arcade instead. I get that a free version needs to be paid somehow but if you’ve bought the game then making people still watch ads for rewards is no good - Give them another way to earn it instead. So, if you’re going to play this you are better not paying for it - just play the free version because you’re going to suffer 90 second unskippable ads anyway.

I am afraid I am not a fan of the newer version of the Vita Mahjong game. The old game would allow you to score 4 pts for clearing a game and occasionally 8 (I think), but frequently offered extra shuffles. With this new version, there are often too many covered tiles to clear with only 4 slots to fill and as a result you are left in a situation of having to guess moves instead of being able to work them out. The shuffle or other clues take too long (sometimes up to 1 minute) to wait and I lose interest, but I will never pay to play a game so will always have to wait for the adverts to finish. Many others have said they feel they are playing against ‘bots’ and I agree. It just isn’t believable for players to quickly and consistently score so highly when you only get 2 points per game the majority of times. It often takes me 2 hours of gaming each day just to get on the scoreboard to avoid being relegated, never mind having a chance of winning!!Finally, if you are on holiday and can’t play the game for say 7 days, you are relegated from the top league to bottom in that time. I will now be stopping playing this game due to all of the above needless changes.
