I use this every day, so the interface is important to me. A recent update did show some improvements - the crossword fits on the screen now, which is a welcome change. However, on Sudoku the 'given' numbers now sit on a grey background, which is incredibly distracting. I'm finding I can't complete puzzles at all. I'm sure it helps some people, which is fair, but the lack of foresight in not making this a selectable option is a disappointment. Haven't seen any crashes since the update, so maybe that's improved, but so far for me this update is more of a downdate.

Fix for a nasty problem
sisterRuth
I have been playing for a long time. At first you could see all your completed puzzles and part-finished ones. So, accidentally closing a puzzle wasn’t a big problem. But for some time it has been clearing all my entries so that, although it showed a puzzle as completed or part done, when I reopened the puzzle it was completely unstarted. I found that the only way to get back to being able to see part- or fully solved puzzles was to fully delete the app and reinstall it. This means I have lost anything I had done before but at least I can now do a puzzle in more than one session. What was particularly annoying was that the menu button is so close to the exit button that it is far too easy to accidentally close a puzzle when you just want to select an option. When this happens you have to restart the puzzle.Update Dec 2022:Reloading the app fixed the problem of it not remembering your partly or completely solved puzzles for several months. But it has come back so I’ll try yet again reinstalling it. All other annoyances described by me and others remain. It truly is a disgrace to The Times.
Poor update
AdrenalineSerge
The latest update is really poor. Now on my phone screen the space for the clue is much bigger than it needs to be, and this means that the grid is even smaller than it was. I used to find clicking the correct part of the grid quite difficult as I have a tremor, but now it’s almost lmpossible. Also the letters in the grid are increasingly difficult for me to see. The button to check an answer is now on a separate menu, and this is also annoying. This is a totally unnecessary “update” which is more style than substance. As a direct result I may have to end my subscription as I’m finding it difficult to use.UPDATE - THE BELOW REPLY IS OF ABSOLUTELY NO USE TO ME! You can’t fix my tremor, and I’m sure you have absolutely no interest in my feedback. DONT JUST POST A STANDARD REPLY! READ THE REVIEW AND THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM! I’m absolutely furious that you’re not taking my problems seriously enough to be bothered to send a sensible reply

At last a Times Puzzle app
mikewmartin
This app is much better than using a Safari link to The Times on the web. Also much better than using the puzzles within the Digital Times app. With this app you have historical puzzels as well as todays, plus you have Killer Suduko, which is missing from the The Times Digital app.One less star than max as I had to phone up The Times to find if my Digital 7 day Times subscription also covered the subscription for this Times Puzzle app. Nowhere anywhere does it tell you. Not in the app, not in the app stores description of the app, not on the times website. The good news I was told the Puzzle app is covered by my Times Digital subscription. So no extra cost.So for me, there is no reason I would not download the app.
Log in and puzzle retrieval updates.
