I’ve been on and off on hearthstone since it started, with good customer support when I’ve had issues in the past, some of the more recent changes make it much easier to earn gold for packs which I really appreciate now there are so many more cards and expansions in the game. The only issue I have which limits me to 4 instead of 5 stars is just down to the sheer quantity of cards in the game now, you can never truly catch up without spending money (I only ever spend money on adventures - my favourite part of the game) I miss having the ability to get all the cards and focus on crafting the legendaries I was missing and going for gold cards in my favourite decks but now there’s just far too many to even collect all the cards let alone craft the cool and golden version of cards. This game was for me 5* when it had quality over quantity and although they have improved in areas, those were not necessarily needed or still quite up to scratch for the current quantity of cards. But all in all if you have a LOT of time to invest, you can still get into the game even as a new player

This game is more corrupt than the new cards they just released. I know blizzard/Activision have a team dedicated to deleting reviews like this one but everyone should know. You will not rank up unless you spend money on the game. There are algorithms and ways to deceive you, hearthstone even records and listens to what you say. Please delete this game as soon as possible. All they are interested in is money. If you spend money you will be rewarded, if you don’t you will be punished. You will always be matched against an opponent that 1 Counters You completely 2 They will have perfect card draw whilst you draw your highest mana cards first, don’t believe me ? Keep track of your cards and enemies cards. Even if you have an amazing deck that poses a challenge to all classes, when you make a play that turns the game in your favour they will always draw a card that’s perfect for the situation. Keep track of cards. You’ll see.The game actually listens to what you say, for example if you spend money and continuously talk about a card you need or want you will be rewarded with that card or a similar one that compliments it. None of it it’s random. They are very clever, more and more people have noticed how corrupt the game is and there’s been a lot of searches on the web if hearthstone is corrupt so blizzard/Activision release CORRUPT card expansion so if you search for it all you’ll find is news to do with the expansion. Bravo. Honestly if they worked as hard at keeping the game balanced as they do with deceiving you this would be the best game ever. Shame.
Long time player - disappointed with changes

I’m a long time player, been playing since beta. Hearthstones a great game, I’ve had hours and hours of fun over the years I’ve played it. As a Warcraft player there’s an awful lot of nostalgia that comes with playing hearthstone. The animations, art and voice lines are also very good and as a mobile only player also come out great on mobile.I can’t give the game more than 3 stars as it’s got very expensive. Having spent a lot of money on the game over the years I have amassed a large collection of cards - I’ve moved to playing wild format recently as I cannot afford the £75 pre order bundle required to keep up having a reasonable win rate in standard (sure you can play basic cards but no one enjoys loosing 10+ games in a row).The changes to the gold / reward system has unfortunately left a bad taste. I used to log on, play a few games, maybe win a hand full and before I knew it in a few weeks I’d have a few hundred gold to spend on extra packs, I might also subsidise it with some real money so I could open a few more. Now I’m amassing very little with a similar play time - I doubt I’ll be able to afford to subsidise any future expansions with enough cards to catch up to relevancy and will fall further behind. This is why I can’t give the game more than a 3* review

After playing hearthstone for many years I have really grown fond of how it has adapted over the years. The addition of many new elements helps to appeal to many more players and with new card releases there’s always something to adapt to and enjoy. From previous years where I have bought bundles to create decks and leaving hearthstone, I have not bought anything for a few years now only using in game rewards. This way has helped me to enjoy the other modes available such as battlegrounds, duels and still play constructed. The solo aspects such as mercenaries and solo adventures also help when I want a break from mega defining decks being a constant, however it’s becoming used to these styles of play that makes you aware and heighten your senses to the games. It does take a little time to get the feel back into it and with the core set being available quickly once you play you can appreciate the building of decks once you do grind. I’d recommend previous players to rediscover this gem, with an open mind to the newer aspects and using the rewards to their favor too
