Scam App That Traps You in Endless Charges – Beware!

WiserApp is running a blatant scam disguised as a reading app. They keep charging $22/month, and make cancellation nearly impossible. I followed every step in their so-called “Refund Policy” — contacted support, looked for the Stripe link (never received it), and tried to cancel well before the renewal — yet the charges continued.Their refund policy is deliberately written to deny refunds under almost all conditions. Even if you request one within 7 days, they hide behind vague “usage” excuses like reading a single book. In my case, I was charged even after I deleted the app and contacted them repeatedly. They also make it clear that subscriptions are “non-refundable” by default, which should be a red flag for anyone.Their app’s setup bypasses App Store protections, making you pay directly through their site, so you’re not even protected by Apple’s refund process. This is textbook predatory behavior, and Apple should remove this app immediately.Avoid this app at all costs. It’s not just bad — it’s deceptive, unethical, and borders on fraud.

If you subscribe directly through their website or outside the App Store, cancelling your subscription becomes intentionally difficult and unclear. There’s no straightforward option to manage or cancel your plan via the app or dashboard—a red flag for any paid service.Despite my attempts to cancel, they continued to charge me, and customer support was unresponsive and unhelpful. It feels like the subscription model is deliberately designed to trap users into recurring payments. This lack of transparency is unethical and unacceptable, especially from a company that markets itself as a personal finance or productivity tool.If you’re considering Wiser, I highly recommend avoiding it unless you subscribe through a platform like the App Store, where cancellation is more manageable and you’re better protected. Otherwise, you risk getting charged indefinitely with little recourse.Bottom line: A promising app ruined by predatory billing practices. Stay away.

This app shows very concerning and deceptive behavior.They force users to subscribe through their website instead of Apple In-App Purchase, which immediately removes any control you normally have through Apple to manage or cancel subscriptions safely.What’s worse:It is nearly impossible to find a clear cancellation option on their websiteNo proper subscription management pageEmails sent to their support regarding cancellation and refunds are completely ignoredCharges are made without clear confirmationIn my case, my card was charged multiple times without proper authorization, and refund requests received no response at all.This setup feels intentionally designed to:Avoid Apple’s subscription protectionsMake cancellation difficultTrap users into unwanted chargesI strongly warn everyone:⚠️ Do NOT download this app⚠️ Do NOT enter your card details⚠️ If you value your money, stay awayThis is one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a subscription-based app.
