Upwork is supposed to help freelancers make money, but before you even get the chance to apply for a job, you're asked to buy Connects. Nothing tells you this upfront — you only find out after spending time building your profile, thinking you're ready to work.If we had money to spend, we wouldn’t be here trying to find work to pay bills or survive. It makes no sense — we’re not here to gamble $15 hoping to get hired.And when you finally do get a job? Upwork still takes 10% of your already small payment. So how is this helping freelancers?Freelancers come here because we don’t have money, not because we want to spend it on platforms. Upwork needs to rethink how it supports beginners — or be honest from the start.Very disappointed.
