NEW CHAMPIONS MARVEL CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH WITH EPIC NEW ARRIVALS: M’Baku The charismatic and formidable leader of the Jabari Tribe, is one of Wakanda’s most powerful warriors and a frequent rival of T’Challa. He is a traditionalist, a worshipper of the White Gorilla, Ghekre, living with his tribe in the isolated mountains away from the rest of Wakanda due to ideological differences. He and his tribe reject the technological progress embraced by T’Challa’s leadership. Though often seen challenging T’Challa’s rule, ultimately his motivations stem from a deep belief in maintaining Wakanda’s ancient traditions. Blue Marvel Adam Brashear had always been a prodigy—a college football star with multiple Ph.D.s who earned two Silver Stars serving as a Marine in the Korean War. While leading Project: Perseus, an attempt to harness the power of antimatter, Adam and his fellow Marine Conner Sims were caught in a reactor explosion. Conner was vaporized, but the reaction stabilized within Adam’s body, granting him the amazing powers of the Blue Marvel. When his identity as a Black man was revealed in a titanic battle alongside the Avengers, Adam was asked by the President to retire, as the country was not ready for the most powerful man in America to be openly and unapologetically Black. For decades, he obliged, but after losing much of his family in another accident, he has since returned to stand against the ever present threats of the modern world. As with the previous run of Squad Builder, there will be a weekly Solo Event which will contain Side Quest rewards, as well as points based on rank for the new Alliance Event. Alliances that are competitive throughout the event will have the chance to play for a 7-Star Heimdall. This time around we are also introducing an Alliance gifting component to the event, where Bronco Tokens can be gifted to Alliance members to gain entry to the energized event entry, where points scored will be tripled. Bronco Tokens will be earned via Weekly Clash Event milestones, with additional tokens being purchasable from the store. Alliance Quest - Meta Weeks We are introducing a new format for Alliance Quests - Meta Weeks! NEW CHAMPIONS Lizard: Dr. Curtis Connors is a renowned scientist and field surgeon who tragically lost an arm during his service. After returning to civilian life, he devoted himself to finding a way to regenerate lost limbs by developing a serum based on reptilian DNA. He used himself as the first test subject, and while the serum worked, it also mutated his DNA and he turned himself into a human-reptile hybrid known as the Lizard. Spider-Man (Pavitr Prabhakar): Pavitr Prabhakar was born and raised in the vibrant but gridlocked city of Mumbattan. Granted magical spider powers by a shaman and guided by the moral lessons of his Aunt Maya and late uncle Bhim, he has assumed the heroic mantle of Spider-Man. These model heroics led to his induction into the Spider-Society. When the Spot invades his city and causes a disaster, Pavitr gets a painful look at the darker sides of his new life, and now searches for a better way forward for the multiverse. When Moon Knight wants to add nuance to his crime-fighting he takes on the persona of Mr. Knight. This gentleman detective can talk his way out of trouble, but is no stranger to rolling up his sleeves for more intensive interrogations. Silver Samurai Kenuichio Harada is the mutant son of former Japanese crimelord Shingen Yashida, the head of the influential Clan Yashida in Japan. Harada has mastered the disciplines of the Samurai, with his mutant powers granting him the ability to generate energy from within himself, and transfer said energy through inanimate objects. He uses this gift to empower his sacred Katana, allowing it to cut through nearly anything. Now, like his father, he seeks to run his own criminal underworld. After many years of treatment, Jessica was cured but also her genetic make up was altered so much that she gained spider-like super powers, and eventually she would use these powers to become the super hero known as Spider-Woman. Lumatrix: At first glance Lumatrix appears to be a charming entertainer who dazzles others with an array of impressive light manipulation powers, but underneath their smile lurks a menace that hungers for violence. Lumatrix's role is not that of an entertainer, but an assassin designed by The Founders to infiltrate, sabotage, and eliminate their targets. It may have been more pragmatic to craft an Eidol with a less flashy aesthetic, but The Founders sought to keep one of their deadliest weapons in plain sight. Once a talented stuntwoman named Rita Wayword, she was cybernetically transformed by the loathsome Mojo, whom she was forced to serve. Initially an adversary to Longshot and the X-Men, she eventually made amends, and has fought beside them on many occasions. Her magic is powered by dance-like progressions of Wushu forms, which she further enhances with her many arms and armaments. At a young age, one lonesome Halloween night he unknowingly approached the house of Crime-Master, who kidnapped him and trained him as his protégé. Over time, Jack became a master assassin, developing a calling card where he placed candles inside the heads of his victims, to simulate the appearance of a jack-o-lantern. NEW QUESTS AND EVENTS Event Quest - No Rest For The Wicked BETA RAY BILL finally arrives to The Contest in response to Nova's distress beacon. Unfortunately, Bill’s entrance throws things into conflict, and to make matters more upsetting he seems to have an odd obsession with the regrown World Tree. Nova and the gang try to calm Bill down, but clouded minds and the arrival of ENCHANTRESS does nothing to ease tensions. The usually villainous Asgardian claims to be here to help, but will she provide mercy or torment? Side Quest - Beta Ray Battle Zone Arcade has dropped Beta Ray Bill and The Summoner into his grand finale! The heroic pair must fight through an old-school Battle Zone gamespace where Arcade makes the rules. Bill has forged on ahead, leaving behind rewards to help The Summoner catch up. But Arcade has dispatched Champion Avatars to stop the Summoner’s journey. Clear every "Zone" for points and rewards, and dispatch the last of Arcade's wannabe Champions to put his reign of terror to an end! Events Screen Overhaul Our Events page has been completely reimagined! Ease of use, clarity and visual fidelity are at the forefront of this ‘from the ground up’ rebuild. This new hub will also be the home of our brand new Event type; Realm Events, coming in the near future! Reunion Event Introducing the Reunion Event! This Event, formerly known as Legends, features a new Calendar, Store, Objectives, Crystals, and much more - all centered around a brand new Quest; The Crucible! The Crucible Prepare to have your roster seriously tested as you face-off against challenging opponents from Act 7! Two new pieces of tech will be utilized by The Crucible; Elimination Choice Nodes and Unrestricted Quest Teams! Elimination Choice Nodes are a new challenge that forces you to swap out a Champion. Champions that have been swapped out cannot be used again for the remainder of the active Quest. In The Crucible, each opponent will be immediately followed by an Elimination Choice Node, and with a team size of one this means Summoners will have to use a different Champion for every fight. Unrestricted Quest Teams is a new feature built for longform Quests that are intended to take multiple days to complete. For select Quests, players and their teams will have the ability to be active in two PvE Quests at the same time, so you can take on The Crucible while you continue with your regularly scheduled questing! CHAMPION UPDATES Bullseye’s rebalance information: Using Dexterity against Bullseye’s Basic Attacks will no longer trigger Instant Bleeds. Superior Iron Man has been updated! NEW CHAMPIONS Deathless Vision In years past, Champions from the Death Realm staged an assault on the Battlerealm. Empowered by the Death Stone, Thanos created nameless, empty versions of the heroes of the Battlerealm. Of these nameless Champions, a select few were granted malicious will and elevated to become the Deathless, to lead his armies and sow chaos and destruction. Vision was the third Deathless he created. Deathless Vision no longer sees the line between good or evil, he draws his own lines. Patriot Eli Bradley has long known the best and the worst of his country. His grandfather Isaiah was one of the very first Super Soldiers, the kind of warrior for liberty that little boys dream of becoming. But Isaiah's work, like the brutal experiments that gave him his powers and so many of his peers an early death, was kept a shameful secret by the country he served, teaching Eli from a young age that service is never simple. Still, feeling a deep need to make the world a better place, he co-founded the Young Avengers as Patriot. Though sometimes at odds with Captain America and the Avengers, Eli still earned their respect, even taking up Cap's original shield with his blessing. Patriot continues to strive to make his home into the better place it must become. The Leader Samuel Sterns was once an average high school dropout, but after working the night shift at a chemical plant, a gamma explosion left him with an insatiable lust for knowledge. It turns out the gamma granted Sam a genius-level intellect, which he then used to turn himself into The Leader, an evil mastermind and arch nemesis to the Hulk. NEW QUESTS AND EVENTS Event Quest - Stern Minds Prevail The Battlerealm’s premier prison facility, known as THE RAFT, goes into lockdown as unusually high Gamma Radiation is detected. The Summoner arrives to help only to be met by Elijah Bradley aka PATRIOT, who is having a boat-load of troubles of his own! Friends and foes alike are being mentally manipulated by the gamma-enhanced mind of THE LEADER! Hopefully the arrival of Chee'ilth will help keep the inhabitants of this cage from going green with Gamma. But how long will it be until this whole prison breaks?! Side-Quest - Deadpool & Wolverine: Alpha Fight The Arcade Games continue as Deadpool and Wolverine are tasked with cracking the case on some absent Alpha Flight friends! Will things end in polite discussion, or a flurry of claws and blades? We’ll see what sort of maple-flavored mischief the Merc with a Mouth and his pals get up to with Alpha Fight! Spring of Sorrow Gauntlet: The culmination of your pain and SORROW will occur this month, where you will be tasked with dealing with all 4 of the previous fights plus 2 NEW FIGHTS in not one but two painful paths! Fret not though, as you will have the entire month to deal with this heroic task. Be warned however, that these encounters are not for the faint of heart, and will cause you to be overcome with SORROW. To further increase the trials set before you, this month-long quest will feature not 2, not 3, but 4 Solo Objectives for you to try to overcome! Incursions Murderworld Challenge: Gather your Arcade Games Saga Champions and bring them to Incursions to take on the Murderworld Challenge! This sector will test your knowledge of the Saga Champion roster and will reward those who conquer the challenge with 7-Star shards, Titan shards, 7-Star Saga signature stones and plenty more!
