I've been playing this game occasionally for five years. I used to think that everyone was given really random cards and there was a balanced ratio between winning and losing. I had 120,000 coins and I lost everything in games where I didn't have the opportunity to play a single card, for example. I join a game for 2k, win 800, but then lose 30,000. I think that the game is more conducive to putting real money in it. It would be good if you were at 0 so that you could get it other than by paying.
Designed to Make You Spend, Not to Have Fun

I’ve been playing UNO for quite some time, and after many matches I am convinced that the game is intentionally designed to push players into spending money.Multiple times I tested different strategies on purpose just to see whether the outcomes felt random or manipulated. I noticed repeated patterns where the game suddenly became unfair right after progressing well, running out of coins, or refusing in-app purchases. The card distribution and opponent behavior often feel engineered to create frustration at the exact moment when you’re encouraged to buy more coins or boosts.It doesn’t feel like a fair card game anymore. It feels like a system designed to pressure players into spending. The difficulty spikes and “bad luck” moments seem too convenient to be coincidence.I understand that free-to-play games need monetization, but this goes beyond normal monetization. Instead of rewarding skill, the game appears to reward spending.Because of this, I do not recommend playing this game. In my experience, its main goal is not entertainment, but getting players to spend money.

Addictive game, it’s a shame Mattel is milking it for every single cent it can. You get spammed with 10 ads every time (mostly for shop items, new games etc) EVEN AFTER paying them to disable ads (normal ads mind you, which come after every one/two games on top of UNO’s own ads). Card algo is skewed, first few games (especially after not playing for a while) are perfect, then you get the worst cards imaginable game after game and what happens when you lose all your coins? That’s right, “give us money”. And what is the point of the new bot lobbies? It’s a multiplayer game, why are we playing bots? Extremely disappointing.
