In A Wizard's Journey, you choose between three heroes:
- The Mage, who controls the forces of Fire and Ice to cause serious damage to enemies
- The Warrior Priest, who prefers to fight up close with the mighty forces of the heavens behind him
- The Witch, who is an expert at summoning and trickery. She crushes her enemies from afar while her minions protect her.

* Different Game Slots allow you to play through the campaign as either of the three wizard's, allowing countless hours of unique gameplay
