Build and command your own army, conquer territories and make serious headway on your road to becoming a legendary warlord… all in a day’s work in Merge Kingdoms. For the newly minted commanders out there, here are a few tips to help you go from fresh-faced to formidable in record time.
If your castle level is below 7: Build and expand
Your first order of business in Merge Kingdoms is to go big. Unlock areas, construct buildings and expand your command – all of which require gold.
Dwellings are a great source of this shiny currency, and you can upgrade them all the way up to level five simply by merging. A level one dwelling produces 120 gold per minute, and the count only increase every time you level up. Build as many of them as you can, and get them up to level five to bag a whooping 4,080 gold every minute.
If your castle level is below 18: Train troops and recruit heroes
You already have the infantry barracks, and now you have two more barracks to build: cavalry and ranger. Infantry works well with heroes such as Ibn Kahldum (R tier), Bjorn (SR tier) and Nefertiti (SSR tier). Sir Lance (R tier), Attila (SR tier) and Avalon King (SSR tier) favour cavalry. Rangers are what you want for long-ranged heroes William van Orenge (R tier), Arcanum (SR tier) and Hammurabi (SSR tier).
To up the fire power in each barrack, you’ll need to upgrade Unit Merge, Barracks Merge and Building Merge levels using Tech Books. There are only so many of them around, so spend wisely and focus on the two troop types that correspond to your go-to heroes.
If your castle level is below 30: Form alliances
Teamwork is the key to success in Merge Kingdoms. Join forces with other players by forming alliances. Work with your allies to win Alliance Challenges together, make a wish for desired Hero Shards and support each other in times of need.
If you’re stuck in the Trial Hall trying to take down a powerful monster stronghold, call your allies to join you. Taking down a monster stronghold will earn you and your allies a Common Gift Pack. So rally together to score more valuable gifts such as Alliance Treasure Keys, Treasure EXP and Speed Boosters.
If your castle level is below 35: Stack your stats for PvP
Between infantry, ranger and cavalry, you can strategically assemble your army to effectively foil your enemies. Before you rally around a player, keep in mind that there is a rock-paper-scissors-style counter system between the three types of troops.
Ranger counters infantry, infantry wins over cavalry and cavalry trounces ranger. While the counter system provides advantages for certain units, the outcome of battles also depends on factors such as unit upgrades, commander skills, tactics and overall army composition.
