We have been privileged to have had 3 years permanently on the road traveling and seeing this beautiful country we live in with the help of word of mouth and this app WikiCamps it was the best thing we ever did in down loading the app. There are so many reasons it's easy to use great to show places of interest not only where you want to stop but along the way. I will have it open tracking our journey and will find those place to stop and investigate. Great for when you are getting to the end of the day and you just want to find somewhere to pull up for the night . Used it to tell me what shops are in the town ,fuel , water and always the cost of the caravan parks when we had to pull up for a day or two for the washing and supplies . Excellent and still use using it and we got it when it was free ........ long time .Thank you .

I understand that sometimes people think things need to be freshened up and also there will always be resistance to change by others, however as one who is quite opened minded about change and is prepared to wait and see if the change can be a good thing, and having tried to give it time and use it I simply DO NOT SEE how Wiki Camps seriously thinks that they have moved forwards. Instantly I found it hard to read and that’s a deal breaker when travelling especially if accessing the info on a phone as most will be. I was using an iPad and even with that it was hard so on my phone NO WAY !! I am prepared to accept new ways to navigate around an app but when the basics like being quick and easy to see the important points like dog friendly or not with a black icon colour vs the multi coloured array we had of all the site features before then that’s a FAIL. Did no one look into the reasons that their app was popular and how ease of use plays such a big part in that, seriously humans are wired certain ways to receive info especially now a days when it needs to be quick and easy like using different coloured icons for site features. I will be exploring other apps since the best has now stepped backwards. Sad to see. Don’t be afraid to reinstate the old app, we understand that you wanted to freshen it up but it doesn’t work and there is no shame in resurrection. Oh and where’s my favourites??? They took a while to gather and I won’t remember them all.
Please can we go back to old version 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

As someone who was in the planning phase of our lap, I can only provide feedback on the new app from our context. As someone from the IT world, the new version is much more aesthetically pleasing, but only slightly more intuitive. I appreciate there is a lot of info in a small window, but feel like you have to do more and more clicks to get to the same information. It’s frustrating that my ‘liked’ data has not been migrated over, or my notes, so feeling like I have to start again is annoying. I would also like to see some distinction in the icons (ie colour, shape like the old heart) when you’ve marked ’started, liked, want to stay’ etc, so it’s an easy visual on the map. Only having filter option is frustrating, and then having to click into every option from the map is time wasting. In the map trip view, please enable the ability to filter on/off the saved locations. Seeing just the route line was awesome! I hope to see some quick usability and visual improvements.

About six years ago we purchased Wikicamps to travel Aus for 4-5 years. For the first couple of years it was the bible to everything from campsites to places to hike etc. it could be accessed anywhere in mobile range or not if you downloaded the maps. In about 2023 they did an upgrade that was not great whereas the maps and the site was not available when you were out of mobile range, I got their support to help but it never fixed it. Last year the app had a major upgrade and it is absolutely hopeless now. It is very hard to find anything and even though most reviews are stupid ie no toilets at a free camp or there were too many ants, sometimes they are useful in how to find the site ie after the second gate turn left and go over the hill etc. So very disappointing as Australia is so remote in parts and it is not ideal not to be able to access maps. Thank goodness for the old Hema map books. I think you’ve lost us Wikicamps. I suggest to look elsewhere if you want a reliable app for your travels, yes you might have to pay a bit more but it seems it might be worth it.
